Description
This Medici e-bike tour in Florence turns the city's history into a ride. Over two hours, a guide leads you through the historic centre and across the river, telling the story of the dynasty through the places it shaped: the story runs from Cosimo the Elder to Lorenzo the Magnificent and on to Cosimo I.
The route follows the Arno, with scenic views over the water, and passes the Ponte Vecchio. You hear about the Vasari Corridor, the secret passage that links Palazzo Vecchio to the Medici's grand residence, Palazzo Pitti.
Then the ride moves into the Oltrarno. You cross neighbourhoods such as Santa Rosa and Santo Spirito, where artisan workshops and old Tuscan food traditions live on.
You can choose between a standard bike and an e-bike, and between a group and a private tour. Bike rental and the guide are included; hotel pickup, food and drinks are not. If it rains, it turns into a walking tour for safety reasons. The guide speaks English, French, Italian or Spanish.
