Description
A pile of flour, a few quick turns of the hands and fresh dough takes shape: that is how this pasta making class in Florence begins, inside a stone tower from the 1200s a short walk from Brunelleschi's Dome. The tower is said to have belonged to the family of Dante's wife, so you work in a room with real history around it.
A chef-instructor stays beside you at every step, from the first dough to the final shape. Over about two to two and a half hours you make three kinds of fresh pasta from scratch, along with the sauces to dress them.
- Ravioli, tortelli and pappardelle made by hand
- Butter and sage, arrabbiata and an old-fashioned Tuscan ragù
- Tuscan wine and unlimited soft drinks while you cook
All the ingredients and equipment are provided, so you only need to turn up hungry. At the end everyone sits down to eat the whole meal they prepared. The class is taught in English, and it suits couples, friends and food lovers who want to take a real recipe home from Florence.
