Description
This Pisa, Siena and San Gimignano day trip packs three towns and the Chianti countryside into twelve hours. The day starts in Pisa, where you have time for the Leaning Tower, the Cathedral, the Baptistery and the Monumental Cemetery. Tickets to climb the tower can be added.
The road then winds through the Chianti hills to a winery of the area, close to San Gimignano. If you pick the lunch option, you sit down to a light Tuscan meal with a wine tasting. Vegetarian and intolerance-friendly menus can be arranged if you tell them in advance.
San Gimignano is next, a medieval hill town nicknamed the Medieval Manhattan for its towers. You get free time for cobbled lanes, hidden squares and artisan shops. A scenic drive across the countryside brings you to Siena.
