Description
This vintage Fiat 500 tour of Florence is private: only you and a local guide in a sun-yellow electric cabrio, climbing away from the crowds towards the hills. It is not a sightseeing bus, and you start from a pickup point you choose at booking.
After a short introduction to the car and the route, you leave the busy streets for roads outside the historic centre. The guide talks about the origins of Florence, its Renaissance heritage and the role the hills played in its history.
The first stop is San Miniato al Monte, where you step out to admire the church's façade and look over the rooftops, the Arno and the countryside; the guide takes your photo with the city behind. Later comes Piazzale Michelangelo, with the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio and Santa Croce laid out below. Choose the 90-minute version for a compact loop of the viewpoints, or the three-hour one for a slower pace, stops at local shops and a visit to Fiesole.
- A private guide and an electric vintage car
- Pick-up and drop-off at set meeting points
- Photos at every viewpoint and bottled water on board
It runs in rain or shine. Children under three, people with back problems and wheelchair users should skip it.
