Description
Three towns, one coach and a long day in the countryside: this Pisa, Siena and San Gimignano day trip from Florence covers the best-known corners of Tuscany in about 12 hours. A multilingual tour leader travels with the group, and you can pick the version that fits, from transport only to one that adds lunch, a local guide in Siena and the cathedral.
The day starts in Siena, on Piazza del Campo where the Palio horse race is run, with the exterior of the Duomo to admire in Piazza del Duomo. A winery in the Chianti hills comes next for a wine tasting and, in the options that include it, a Tuscan lunch of antipasto, cheese, bruschetta, ragù pasta and dessert. In the afternoon the road leads to San Gimignano, a UNESCO town of old towers known for its Vernaccia wine, and then to Pisa.
- Siena, with an English-speaking local guide in some options
- San Gimignano, explored at your own pace
- Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa, with the Baptistery, Cathedral and Leaning Tower, in free time
Expect a moderate amount of walking and some stairs. The tour is not suitable for wheelchair users or people with reduced mobility. Pickup and drop-off are not included, so check the meeting point of your option, and note that the Siena guide and cathedral visit are in English only.
