Description
If you want a small group wine tasting tour from Florence that stays focused on the glass, this half-day trip heads into the Chianti Classico region by air-conditioned minibus. Your English-speaking driver and guide talks you through the landscape of olive groves and cypress trees on the way.
At the first wine estate you walk through the cellars to see how the wine is made, then taste three of its wines alongside the olive oil it produces. The second estate offers another cellar tour, and a good chance to compare its methods with the first. Here the tasting widens to more wines and oils, set against Tuscan specialties.
- Two wine estates, each with a cellar visit
- Wines and olive oils at both estates, mostly Sangiovese reds, with a rosé or white now and then, not guaranteed
- Olive oil, cheese, salami, cold cuts and bruschetta to go with them
Two formats exist: a small group of up to 25 people or a semi-private option of up to 8. The tour runs in English only, and children under 12 are not admitted. A vegetarian or gluten-free menu can be arranged when you book. Hotel pickup is not part of the tour, and it runs in any weather, so dress for the day.
