Description
A horse-drawn carriage tour in Florence turns the old centre into a slow scene. Two horses pull the carriage over cobbled streets and through narrow alleys, and you look at the old centre the way a medieval traveller might have done. The coachman is dressed in medieval clothes, which adds to the effect.
A licensed guide rides with you and tells the stories, legends and facts behind what you pass. The stops of the story include Piazza Santa Croce, Piazza della Signoria and the lanes between them, and the slow pace leaves time to look at palaces and squares properly. The ride lasts from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the option you choose.
Families are well catered for: under-12s ride at no charge and are not counted in the booking. Younger ones tend to enjoy the horses and the sound of hooves on the stones, while adults get a quiet, romantic way to see the centre.
