Description
A Chianti wine tasting day trip from Florence by Mercedes minivan: three wineries, an olive oil mill, a three-course Tuscan lunch and a stop in Greve in Chianti.
A small-group day out, this Chianti wine tasting day trip from Florence runs across Chianti Classico country, with vineyards, olive trees and villages on the hilltops all around. You travel by Mercedes minivan or minibus with free Wi-Fi and an English-speaking driver, and the tour runs rain or shine.
Through the day you:
- Visit three wineries, walking among the vines and exploring old cellars
- Try Chianti and Chianti Classico wines in several tastings
- Sit down to a three-course Tuscan lunch in a boutique winery
- Tour a historic estate and its olive oil mill to learn how extra virgin oil is made, with tastings
- Wander through Greve in Chianti, a medieval village
Along the way you learn to judge a wine like a sommelier, from aroma and structure to acidity and aftertaste, with castles and vineyards in the view. Photo stops are built into the route.
If you want something more exclusive, there is a semi-private upgrade for a maximum of 8 guests. A certified wine expert leads it and focuses on Supertuscan wines, with deeper access to the cellars and premium tastings.
