Description
A wine tasting in Florence can start in a historic cellar in the center of town, where a sommelier pours Tuscan wines and explains where each one comes from and what sets it apart. It is an easy first step into Tuscany's winemaking tradition, and it works as well for a curious beginner as for someone who already knows wine.
You pick the size of the tasting: 3, 5 or 7 wines, each served with a platter of local cold cuts and cheeses such as prosciutto, salame and pecorino toscano. The glasses come from labels including Sangiovese, Vermentino, Vernaccia, Chianti and Bolgheri. The 7-wine option also brings Brunello and Super Tuscan blends. The cellar's own extra virgin olive oil is tasted too. The exact wines may change with availability on the day.
